Prayer Guide | September 1st to October 4th
The team departs Brookside at 1 in the morning, traveling by bus to Indianapolis, then flying to Newark, NJ, and on to Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic. Pray for smooth travel, successful flight connections, and passage of luggage, medications, and supplies through customs. With such an early departure, pray for strength, alertness, and health. Ask God to protect us physically and spiritually from any opposition that seeks to hinder this mission.
After spending the night at the Dominican Fiesta Hotel in Santo Domingo, the team will take a three-hour bus ride to the Solid Rock guesthouse in San Juan de la Maguana. Pray that God would mold and unify our team’s hearts, souls, and minds together to do His work and that His fruit would be in abundance all week. Ask God to help us with the organization of supplies and the orientation with Solid Rock.
Pray for strong connections with our Dominican translators and staff joining us today. Pray for safety, endurance, and joy in serving.
Medical Team: We will be traveling by bus to a barrio(neighborhood) clinic. Some clinics are close by, others are an hour plus drive away. Pray that God directs us to the communities where our skills are matched well.
Construction Team: We will be building a local church in San Juan—laying concrete blocks, mixing concrete, and leveling areas. Pray for our health and protection as we work in the heat and construction conditions.
The team will join a local church service this week. Pray that worship and the Word of God would transcend language and culture, uniting us in Christ.
Medical Team: Barrio Clinic day 2. Pray for Enol, the Solid Rock evangelist traveling with the medical team, as he shares the gospel. Ask that hearts would be receptive to Christ’s invitation.
Construction Team: Pray for our safety as we use tools and equipment being used throughout the project. Pray also for the Dominican’s that will be joining us all week, that we would grow the unity and family of Christ in our productivity and presence.
The team will enjoy a meal at a local restaurant in San Juan. Pray it is a time of refreshment and encouragement midway through the trip.
Medical Team: Clinic day 3. Pray that each barrio visit brings meaningful opportunities to use our skills, offering both medical and soul care that brings encouragement.
Construction Team: Pray for the church being built—that it becomes a strong foundation for God’s kingdom work in San Juan.
Pray for strength and focus to finish the week’s work well, in God’s way. In the morning, we will visit one of the schools Solid Rock is associated with. Pray for the students and their families as well as the administrators and teachers that give meaningful education and Christ honoring programs.
Medical Team: Clinic Day 4. On our final day of service, pray for continued opportunities to minister with the Dominican staff, sharing both medical care and the hope of Christ.
Construction Team: Pray for the Dominican and Solid Rock staff we’ve partnered with, that God would sustain and bless their ongoing work and ministry.
The team travels back to Santo Domingo by bus. In the afternoon, we will visit the Colonial Zone for a couple hours sightseeing and shopping, then return to the Dominican Fiesta Hotel to reflect on the week. Pray for our hearts and minds as we process a very full week while we transition back to the United States.
The team travels back to the United States. Pray for our safe travels, for a smooth re-entry as we return home, and that the experiences we’ve gained will shape us to create a lasting and meaningful impact. Ask the Lord to continue shaping us through this experience, and that His Church will continue to be strengthened both here and in the Dominican Republic. Praise God for His faithfulness—and thank you for joining us in prayer!
