The Truth About Spiritual ROI You Need to Know! S2E34

We all know the feeling - that knot in your stomach when you’re faced with a challenge. Maybe it’s sharing your faith with a friend, stepping into a new role, or even just speaking up when you know something is wrong. Fear can be a powerful silencer, and sometimes, it can even make us question our own worthiness and ability to follow Jesus.

In this week’s Church Unscripted conversation, we journeyed through the book of Exodus, pausing to sit with Moses in his own struggle with fear. We see Moses, chosen by God, initially shrinking back from the immensity of the task before him. He feels inadequate, echoing excuses we ourselves might whisper to God – “I’m not a good speaker,” “What if they don't listen?”

Yet, through Moses’ journey, we see a beautiful truth emerge: God doesn't necessarily seek out those who feel the most qualified. He seeks out hearts that are willing, even when shrouded in fear. He sees past our perceived shortcomings and, with gentle hand, peels back layers of doubt to reveal the strength and purpose He has woven within us.

This desire for genuine connection with us, even in our fear, is a beautiful reflection of Jesus’ own heart. Remember how he embraced those ostracized and misunderstood? How he walked towards fear, not away from it? It’s this same Jesus who invites us to lay down our burdens, to find solace in His presence, and draw strength from His unwavering love.

Here at Brookside, our prayer is that these unscripted conversations become a source of encouragement on your own journey. As we journey together, let's remember we don't have to have it all figured out. Instead, let’s bring our questions, our doubts, and yes, even our fears to the feet of Jesus. Let’s open ourselves to the transforming power of His love, allowing Him to refine our character and build within us homes, families, and communities that reflect His heart.
