Sunday, October 6 - Commissioning Day

Saturday, October 12: The team travels to Cincinnati by bus to fly to JFK and on to Santo Domingo, DR. Pray for no hassles, for making connecting flights, and for getting all of our medications and supplies out of the airport. Pray this blessing for the team: "May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all." (1 Corinthians 13:14)

Sunday, October 13: The team is traveling from Santo Domingo to the guesthouse in San Juan, which is about a 3-hour drive. They are getting settled in, organizing the supplies for the week, and meeting the Solid Rock staff for orientation. Pray they will bond as a team and work well together. Pray this blessing for the team: "May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit." (Romans 15:13)

Monday, October 14: The medical team travels to a barrio clinic site. Pray they will be effective in bringing health care to those who really need it. They will be working with IVY Tech student nurses this week. Pray for those doing construction work that they will be safe, and have the supplies they need to do the job. Pray that connections/bonds will develop between the Dominicans and our team. Pray this blessing for the team: "May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you a spirit of unity among yourselves as you follow Christ Jesus, so that with one heart and mouth you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ." (Romans 15:5)

Tuesday, October 15: The medical team goes to another barrio clinic. Pray for travel safety and good health for the team members. Pray for our evangelist, Enol, as he shares the gospel message, that hearts will be receptive and respond to the invitation to receive Christ as Savior. The construction team will continue their assigned work. Pray they will tolerate the heat and have endurance and skill to do the job well. Pray this blessing for the team: "May the Lord Jesus Christ himself and God our Father, who loved us and by his grace gave us eternal encouragement and hope, encourage your hearts and strengthen you in every good deed and word." (2 Thessalonians 2:16,17)

Wednesday, October 16: Another barrio destination for the medical team. Pray that they will be able to bring comfort to the sick with their medicines, and that they may encourage the hearts and lives spiritually of those who come to them. The construction team continues their work. Pray for their continued health and strength. Pray they will be an encouragement to each other and the Dominicans that are with them. Pray this blessing for the team: "May the God of peace, who through the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great Shepherd of the sheep, equip you with everything good for doing his will, and may he work in us what is pleasing to him, through Jesus Christ, to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen." (Hebrews 13:20,21)

Thursday, October 17: Last day to travel to another barrio. Pray for continued strength and health as the team serves today. Pray that they are an encouragement to the people they encounter. Pray for the construction team as they wrap up their work. Pray they will stay healthy and make good progress in their work. Pray this blessing for the team: "May the Lord make your love increase and overflow for each other and for everyone else, just as ours does for you. May he strengthen your hearts, so that you will be blameless and holy in the presence of our God and Father when our Lord Jesus comes with all his holy ones." (1 Thessalonians 3:12,13)

Friday, October 18: The team will travel back to the capital for brief shopping and sightseeing. Then they head to the hotel for an evening of rest and relaxation. They will have a time of sharing and communion. Pray this blessing for the team: "May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls is faithful and he will do it." (1 Thessalonians 5:23,24)

Saturday, October 19: The team will be traveling back to the USA! Pray again for travel safety and good connections and ease in getting through customs. Pray that God will continue to work in their lives as they serve him back home. And that what they experienced the past week will motivate them to keep on serving him in the future. Pray the same blessing for them as the day they left: "May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all." (1 Corinthians 13:14)

Also that week, a team of student nurses from IVY Tech will be joining us. Pray that we will work well together, have good interaction, and good fellowship. Thank you for remembering us and praying for us.
