Woodburn Christian Children's Home
The Woodburn Christian Children's home is a ministry of combined Christian churches begun in 1972. The mission is to provide a Christian home for children with special needs and to minister to children and families on physical, educational, emotional, and spiritual levels. It has provided a home for those who are homeless and a stable family for those who come from a broken family.
The philosophy of the staff is to teach the children that they are not victims but overcomers. They teach and direct the children towards growing in the knowledge of the Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and honoring God with their lives.
The Woodburn Christian Children’s Home has many needs that we will seek to fulfill.
Donations - Food and money are essential to keeping the Children’s Home running. The Children's Home receives no federal, state, or county support. They are entirely dependent upon private contributors who make this ministry strong by operating on a cash basis. They also run their own food pantry that supports all the children that currently live there; moreover, the food pantry helps any former child who graduated and is in need of help.
Service – Service projects and time spent invested in the children are areas of constant need. We will seek to meet projects that the Children’s Home cannot do on their own. We will also seek to invest in the children that live there. The opportunities are endless. We can take the children on outings, to Tincaps games, to a meal together with our family, etc.
The Children's Home means a great deal to so many; we look forward to Brookside's partnership with the children's home and hope this is the beginning of a long term relationship.
